We are looking for an exceptional Verification and Validation Engineer to join their growing team.
The Role Overview
This is a highly active and hands-on role. You will be responsible for ensuring hardware and software products are thoroughly tested, validated, and fit for deployment in demanding real-world environments. You will develop and execute comprehensive verification and validation activities throughout the product lifecycle, from early prototype evaluation through to production release and post-release quality improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Design test strategies, develop automated and manual test systems, and build test rigs.
Manage laboratory and field trials, and investigate product issues to ensure new features and products meet functional, reliability, and performance requirements.
Work closely with hardware, firmware, cloud, and customer support teams.
Set up physical test rigs, monitor systems, follow up on faulty units, and gather field feedback directly.
Create comprehensive test plans covering all product aspects and perform unit testing for existing products like modems and controllers.
Facilitate deployment and testing at scale in non-office environmental conditions.
Utilize tools such as a Raspberry Pi to trigger tests and write small blocks of test code.
Communicate directly with clients to discuss field trials.
Skills and Requirements
A strong background in mechatronics. Exceptional graduates with significant projects or professionals with around two years of commercial experience will be highly considered.
Technical proficiency in Python, scripting, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or C/C++ to write test scripts.
A solid understanding of sensors, controllers, connections, and protocols.
Systems-level thinking for electronic systems, specifically the ability to generate failure scenarios and test how a system responds.
A hands-on tinkerer who is willing to move constantly and work directly with physical hardware.
Experience in the automotive or aerospace industries is highly regarded.
Skills in 3D printing, 3D modeling, or basic Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) design are considered a highly desired bonus.
Benefits and Rewards
A highly competitive salary offering
An autonomous role where you will sit between teams and shape a brand-new testing function.
The opportunity to work with award-winning technology designed for rapid, self-installation that operates in remote locations using leading satellite networks or available cellular connectivity.
The chance to improve product quality, accelerate development cycles, and provide confidence that solutions perform reliably in harsh outdoor industrial environments worldwide.
